Matthew graduated “With High Honors in Law,” the top five percent in a graduating class, from the University of Washington School of Law in March, 2015. Matthew is a member of the University of Washington School of Law Order of the Coif Chapter.
Matthew completed his first year of legal studies at the University of Oregon School of Law before transferring to the University of Washington. Matthew joined Smith Alling as a Rule 9 Intern in his last year of law school.
Earlier in law school, Matthew externed at the Washington State Court of Appeals, Division II under the supervision of Judge Bradley Maxa. Prior to his judicial externship, Matthew also worked for a small family law firm in Seattle, Washington, and a small general practice firm in Pierce County.
Matthew also attended the University of Washington for his undergraduate studies. In 2011, Matthew graduated from the University of Washington with a double major in Political Science and Communication.
Matthew is a native of Puyallup and is excited to return home to Pierce County. In his spare time, when not watching Husky Football, Matthew enjoys spending time hiking, fishing, and exploring Washington’s outdoors.
