A native of Puyallup, Matthew graduated from the University of Washington School of Law in 2015 “With High Honors in Law,” the top five percent in his graduating class. He is a member of the University of Washington School of Law Order of the Coif Chapter. Matthew’s undergraduate degree is also from the University of Washington, where he had a double major in Political Science and Communication.
While in law school, Matthew externed at the Washington State Court of Appeals, Division II under the supervision of Judge Bradley Maxa. Prior to his judicial externship, Matthew also worked for a small family law firm in Seattle, Washington, and a small general practice firm in Pierce County.
Matthew worked for Smith Alling as a Rule 9 intern while in law school.He joined the firm as an Associate in 2015.
In his spare time, when not watching Husky football, Matthew enjoys hiking, fishing, and exploring Washington’s outdoors.
